Field-replaceable units (FRUs) are device components that you can replace at your site.
The QFX3008-I Interconnect device FRUs except the master Control Board are
hot-insertable and hot-removable: you can remove and replace them without powering
off the device or disrupting the switching function.
NOTE:
To prevent data loss on the Interconnect cards, we recommend that
you follow the procedures to offline and power off the cards before removing
them from the device. See
Table 6 on page 42

take before removing them.

To avoid packet loss you must take the front card offline before removing it. See

Master Control Board—We recommend that you switch mastership to the backup Control
Board, and then take the Control Board offline before removing it. Traffic through the
QFX3008-I Interconnect device will be disrupted while the backup Control Board assumes
mastership. See
