Ensure the Director device is configured for the new network module and powered
down. See
"Removing a Power Supply from a QFX3100 Director Device (includes
video)" on page
588.
Ensure that you have the following parts and tools available:
ESD grounding strap
To install a network module in a QFX3100 Director device (see
Attach the ESD grounding strap to your bare wrist, and connect the strap to a site ESD

Taking care not to touch network module components, pins, leads, or solder

connections, remove the network module from its bag.
Ensure that the network module is properly aligned with the network module slot.

The network module faceplate should be aligned so the ports are numbered 0 through
3 from left to right.
Insert the network module into the network module slot, and gently push the module

all the way into the slot until the module is seated flush in the network module slot.
CAUTION:
Do not use too much force to seat the network module flush
into the network module slot. If backpressure is preventing the network
module from seating flush in the network module slot, remove the network
module from the slot and retry the procedure, taking care to ensure that
the network module is properly aligned with the network module slot.
Tighten both screws on the network module, using your fingers.

After system bootup, CentOS rescans the network module for MAC addresses and
includes the new interfaces in the aggregated Ethernet (AE) bundle.
