From the View menu, choose Go to Network View.
Step 1
Right-click the span where you want to switch path protection traffic away. Choose Circuits from the

shortcut menu.
In the Circuits on Span dialog box, choose FORCE SWITCH AWAY. Click Apply.

In the Confirm UPSR Switch dialog box, click Yes.
Step 4
In the Protection Switch Result dialog box, click OK.
Step 5
In the Circuits on Span window, the Switch State for all circuits is FORCE.

Circuits on Span Dialog Box with a Force Switch
A Force switch request on a span or card causes CTC to raise a FORCED-REQ condition. The
condition clears when you clear the Force switch.
