Grasp the cover on each side.
Step 2
Gently pull the cover away from the backplane.
Step 3
Return to your originating procedure (NTP).

To remove the backplane sheet metal cover, loosen the five screws that secure it to the ONS 15454 and
Step 1
pull it away from the shelf assembly.
Loosen the nine perimeter screws that hold the backplane sheet metal cover(s) in place.
Step 2
Lift the panel by the bottom to remove it from the shelf assembly.
Step 3
Store the panel for later use. Attach the backplane cover(s) whenever EIA(s) are not installed.
Step 4
Step 5
Return to your originating procedure (NTP).

This task removes the backplane sheet metal cover that is installed on the
backplane when electrical interface assemblies (EIAs) are not installed.
