CRUISE CONTROL SYSTEM (DIAGNOSTICS)
Step
1 CHECK CRUISE INDICATOR LIGHT CIR-
CUIT.
1) Turn the ignition switch to OFF.
2) Disconnect the harness connector of the
combination meter.
3) Turn the ignition switch to ON.
4) Measure the voltage between harness con-
nector terminal and chassis ground.
Connector & terminal
(i11) No. 7 (+) — Chassis ground (–):
2 CHECK CRUISE INDICATOR LIGHT CIR-
CUIT.
1) Turn the ignition switch to OFF.
2) Disconnect the harness connector of ECM.
3) Measure the resistance between ECM har-
ness connector terminal and combination meter
harness connector terminal.

Except for STI model:
(B135) No. 6 — (i10) No. 28:
STI model:
(B135) No. 6 — (i10) No. 16:
3 CHECK CRUISE INDICATOR LIGHT CIR-
CUIT.
1) Turn the ignition switch to ON.
2) Connect the ECM harness connector termi-
nal to ground using a lead wire.

(B135) No. 6 — Chassis ground:
Diagnostics with Phenomenon
Check
Is the voltage 10 V or more?
Is the resistance less than 10 Ω? Go to step 3.
Does the cruise indicator light
illuminate?

Yes No
Go to step 2. • Check fuse No.
13 (in fuse & relay
box).
• Check the har-
ness for open or
short circuit
between combina-
tion meter and fuse
& relay box.
Repair the har-
ness.
Check poor con- Replace the inner
tact of ECM con- meter main
nector. assembly.
