AIRBAG SYSTEM (DIAGNOSTICS)
Step
1 CHECK POOR CONTACT OF CONNECTORS.
Check for poor contact of the connectors
between the airbag control module and the
driver's airbag module.
2 CHECK SEAT POSITION SENSOR (LH).
1) Turn the ignition switch to OFF, disconnect
the battery ground cable, and wait for 20 sec-
onds or more.
2) Disconnect connector (AB52) from the seat
position sensor (LH).
3) Connect the connector (2Y) in the test har-
ness Y to connector (AB52).
4) Connect the battery ground terminal and
turn the ignition switch to ON.
3 CHECK AIRBAG REAR HARNESS (SEAT
POSITION SENSOR HARNESS LH).
1) Turn the ignition switch to OFF, disconnect
the battery ground cable, and wait for 20 sec-
onds or more.
2) Disconnect the connector (AB7) from airbag
control module.
3) Connect the connector (1R) in the test har-
ness R to connector (AB7).
4) Disconnect the seat position sensor (LH),
and then connect the connector (1H) in the test
harness H to connector (AB64).
5) Measure the resistance between connector
(3R) in the test harness R and connector (3H) in
the test harness H.

(3R) No. 1 — (3H) No. 5:
(3R) No. 3 — (3H) No. 6:
4 CHECK AIRBAG REAR HARNESS.
Measure resistance between connector (3R) in
the test harness R and chassis ground.
Connector & terminal
(3R) No. 1 — Chassis ground:
(3R) No. 3 — Chassis ground:
5 CHECK AIRBAG CONTROL MODULE.
1) Connect all connectors.
2) Erase the memory.
3) Perform the Inspection Mode.
4) Read the DTC.
6 CHECK FOR ANY OTHER DTC ON DISPLAY. Is any other DTC displayed?
U: DTC 37 BUCKLE SWITCH RH FAILURE

driver's seat slide
rail assembly.

rear harness (LH)
along with body
harness.
Replace the airbag
control module.

Check DTC using
"List of Diagnostic
Trouble Code

of Diagnostic Trou-
ble Code (DTC).>
No
Go to step 2.
Go to step 3.
Replace the airbag
rear harness (LH)
along with body
harness.
Go to step 5.
Go to step 6.
Finish the diagno-
sis.
