31.Heat Shield Cover
A: REMOVAL
1. CENTER HEAT SHIELD COVER
1) Remove the rear exhaust pipe and muffler.
• Non-turbo model
<Ref. to EX(H4SO)-8, REMOVAL, Rear Exhaust
Pipe.> <Ref. to EX(H4SO)-9, REMOVAL, Muffler.>
• Turbo model and STI model
<Ref. to EX(H4DOTC)-15, REMOVAL, Rear Ex-
haust Pipe.> <Ref. to EX(H4DOTC)-17, REMOV-
AL, Muffler.>
2) Remove the propeller shaft. (STI model) <Ref. to
DS-15, REMOVAL, Propeller Shaft.>
3) Remove the four bolts to remove the center heat
shield cover. (except for STI model)
4) Remove the four nuts and two clips to remove
the center heat shield cover. (STI model)

2. REAR HEAT SHIELD COVER
1) Remove the muffler. <Ref. to EX(H4SO)-9, RE-
MOVAL, Muffler.> <Ref. to EX(H4DOTC)-17, RE-
MOVAL, Muffler.>
2) Remove the four bolts to remove the rear heat
shield cover.
B: INSTALLATION
Install in the reverse order of removal.
