The Alcatel OmniAccess Control System Software runs on Windows 2000 or 2003 and Red Hat Enter-
prise Linux ES Server workstations. The Windows ACS Software can run as a normal Windows
application, or can be installed as a service, which runs continuously and resumes running after a
reboot. The Linux ACS Software always runs as a normal Linux application.
The ACS Web Interface
and control functions through Internet Explorer 6.0 on a Windows workstation (or other) web browser
window. The ACS operator permissions are defined by the ACS administrator in the ACS Web Interface
using the ACS Web Interface Admin tab, which allows the ACS administrator to administer user
accounts and schedule periodic maintenance tasks.
ACS simplifies Alcatel OmniAccess Switch and Appliance configuring and monitoring while decreasing
data entry errors with the
ACS Software uses industry-standard SNMP protocol to communicate with Alcatel OmniAccess Switches
and Appliances.
The ACS Software also includes the
campus, floor plan, and outdoor area maps, add and change wall types, and import the resulting .FPE
vector wall format maps into the ACS Software database. The .FPE files allow the ACS RF Prediction
