Operating Devices

You can operate Alcatel OmniAccess WLAN Switches, Alcatel OmniAccess WLAN Appliances, Omni-
Access AP Access Points and Alcatel OmniAccess Remote Edge Access Points using the following:
Configure <IPaddr> > Switch Commands
Restore to Factory Default Command
Configure <IPaddr> > Refresh Config
Configure <IPaddr> > Restore Config
Configure <IPaddr> > Set Time
Configure <IPaddr> > Upload Configuration/Logs from Switch
Configure <IPaddr> > Download Web Admin Certificate to Switch
Configure <IPaddr> > Download Configuration to Switch
Configure Download Software to Switch
Configure <IPaddr> > Switch Commands
Use CONFIGURE/Switches, click an IP Address under the IP Address column, then on the left
sidebar menu click System/Commands to access this page.
This page allows you to edit important Alcatel OmniAccess Switch or Appliance functions.
Administrative Commands: Select a command from the pulldown and click GO.
Reboot: This command allows you to confirm the restart of your Alcatel OmniAccess Switch or
Appliance after saving your configuration changes. All system connections will be lost so you
will need to open a new session and log back into the Alcatel OmniAccess Switch or Appliance.
You will be prompted for confirmation.
Save Config To Flash: Data is saved to the Alcatel OmniAccess Switch or Appliance in
non-volatile RAM (NVRAM) and is preserved in the event of a power cycle. If the Alcatel
OmniAccess Switch or Appliance is rebooted, all applied changes are lost unless the configu-
ration has been saved.
Reset To Factory Default: Refer to
Ping From Switch: Send a Ping to a network element. This pop-up window allows the you to tell
the Alcatel OmniAccess Switch or Appliance to send a Ping request to a specified IP Address.
This is useful for determining if there is connectivity between the Alcatel OmniAccess Switch or
Appliance and a particular IP station. Once you click OK, three pings are sent and the results of
the ping are displayed in the pop-up. If a reply to the ping is not received, it will show No Reply
Received from IP xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx, otherwise shows Reply received from IP xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx:
(send count =3, receive count = n).
Configuration Commands: Select a command from the pulldown and click GO.
Audit Config: Refer to
Refresh Config from Switch: Refer to
Restore Config to Switch: Refer to
Set System Time: Refer to
Upload/Download Commands: Select a command from the pulldown and click GO.
Upload File from Switch: Refer to
Switch.
