Overview
This guide provides you with the information needed to install the ACS Software on a Windows ACS
Server workstation.
Alcatel OmniAccess Control System Software (ACS Software) is part of the innovative Alcatel Omni-
Access Wireless System (Alcatel OmniAccess Wireless System). The ACS Software:
•
Maintains the Alcatel OmniAccess Wireless System configuration, which includes Alcatel
OmniAccess WLAN Switches and Appliances, OmniAccess AP Access Points, and Alcatel
OmniAccess Remote Edge Access Points.
•
Allows ACS system administrators to assign logins, passwords and privileges for all ACS
operators, and to set times for periodic system tasks.
•
Allows ACS operators to use a web browser on any connected workstation to access ACS
configuration, monitoring, and administrative functions. The ACS operators can also add,
change, and delete Alcatel OmniAccess Wireless System components and configurations in the
ACS Software database, depending on privilege level.
The ACS Software can be run as a normal Windows application, or can be installed as a service, which
operates in the background and which resumes operating after a reboot. The
Notes include the hardware and software required for proper operation.
Note that ACS Software needs the following communication ports to be available on the ACS Server
system:
