DTC DETECTING CONDITION AND TROUBLE AREA (DTC P0505)
DTC DETECTING CONDITION
DTC will set when any one of the following conditions is
detected.
Engine idle speed is 100 r / min. or more lower than target idle
D
speed for 10 sec. or more when vehicle stops and closed
throttle position (ON).
Engine idle speed is 200 r / min. or more higher than target idle
D
speed for 10 sec. or more when vehicle stops and closed
throttle position (ON).
IAC valve terminal voltage is out of specification for about
D
20 sec. or more.
(2 driving cycle detection logic)
DTC CONFIRMATION PROCEDURE
NOTE:
Check to make sure that the following conditions are satisfied when using this DTC CONFIRMATION PRO-
CEDURE.
Intake air temp.: –75C (17.45F) or higher
D
Altitude (barometric pressure): 2400m, 8000 ft or less (560 mmHg 75 kPa or more)
D
Transmission gear shift lever is shifted in "Neutral" for M/T (in "P" position for A/T)
D
Electric load (lighting, heater blower, rear defogger, etc) and A/C are turned OFF.
D
1) With ignition switch OFF, connect scan tool.
2) Turn ON ignition switch and clear DTC using scan tool.
3) Start engine and warm up to normal operating temperature (805C – 1105C, 1765F – 2305F).
4) Run engine at idle speed (600 – 1000 r/min.) for 5 min. or more.
5) Check DTC and pending DTC.
