To enable IS-IS MD5 authentication between the switch and the switches of other
manufacturers, you must use the following commands to configure IS-IS to use an
MD5 algorithm compatible with the switches of other manufacturers.

5.3.17 Adding an Interface to a Mesh Group

On an NBMA network, a router floods a new LSP received from an interface to other
interfaces of the router. This can cause repeated LSP flooding on a high-connectivity
network with multiple point-to-point links, which is a waste of the bandwidth.
To avoid this problem, you can add interfaces into a mesh group. The interfaces in the
group will flood the new LSPs to only the interfaces outside the mesh group.
