1.13 Configuring Inbound CAR

You can enable/disable the inbound committed access rate (CAR) feature.
With the inbound CAR feature enabled, when one ACL rule is applied to multiple ports,
the switch regards the ACL rule applied to each port as different, so one ACL rule
occupies multiple entries after it is applied. If you enable the inbound CAR feature for
traffic matching the same ACL rule on multiple ports, each port can provide the
guaranteed bandwidth for the inbound traffic matching the CAR rule.
With the inbound CAR feature disabled, when one ACL rule is applied to multiple ports,
the switch regards the ACL rule applied to each port as the same, so one ACL rule
occupies only one entry after it is applied. If you enable the CAR feature for traffic
matching the same ACL rule on multiple ports, the switch will provide the guaranteed
bandwidth for all the inbound traffic matching the CAR rule on multiple ports.
For example, if you want to allocate 2 M of CAR bandwidth to the inbound traffic
matching ACL rule 0, you can use the traffic-limit command to enable the CAR feature
on two ports.
If the inbound CAR feature is enabled, each port guarantees 2 M of bandwidth for
its own inbound traffic matching ACL rule 0.
If the inbound CAR feature is disabled, the switch allocates 2 M of bandwidth for all
the inbound traffic matching ACL rule 0 on the two ports.
