H3C S7500 Series Ethernet Switches
In a typical HWTACACS application, a dial-up or terminal user needs to log in to the
device for operations. Acting as the HWTACACS client in this case, the switch sends
the username and password to the TACACS server for authentication. After passing
authentication and being authorized, the user can log in to the switch to perform
operations, as shown in

II. Basic message exchange procedure in HWTACACS
For example, HWTACACS is used to implement authentication, authorization, and
accounting for a telnet user.
