OVERDRIVE-J TYPE
SOLENOID OPERATING VALVE
- Overhaul

I.
Remove the solenoid and operating valve. 40.22.04.
2.
Should it be necessary to clean the operating valve,
immerse this part of the solenoid valve in paraffin
until the valve is clean.
3.
Examine the '0' rings on the solenoid valve for
damage, and renew together with a sealing washer if
necessary.
4.
Fit the solenoid and operating valve. 40.22.04.
SPEEDO DRIVE GEAR
- Remove and refit

Removing
1.
Working from under the car, remove the locking plate
screw.
2.
Remove the drive pinion and holder.
Refitting
3.
Refit the drive gear, ensuring that the drive gear
meshes with the driven gear.
4.
Refit the locking plate and screw.
5.
Top up any oil lost.
