Isolate the battery.
2.
Remove the metering distributor 19.35.07.
3.
Hold the excess fuel lever back against its stop and
with a feeler gauge check the clearance A which
should be 0'006 - 0'008 in (0'15 - 0'2 mm).
4.
If adjustment is required slacken the locknut and turn
the screw clockwise to increase and anti-clockwise to
decrease the clearance. Tighten the locknut.
5.
Reverse instructions I and 2..
NOTE: Clearance adjustment of the excess fuel lever should
not be necessary during normal service. Should the
adjustment be suspect, establish first, whether free
play -exists at the cable end of the lever. Providing
that there is approximately
y.,
in (6 mm) free play
it
is
unlikely that the excess fuel lever is causing any
malfunction and therefore the removal of the
metering distributor would be unnecessary.

I.
Isolate the battery.
2.
Disconnect the injector pipes at the injector.
3.
Disconnect
the
vacuum
pipe
at the metering
distributor.
4.
Disconnect the cold start cable at the metering
distributor.
5.
Disconnect and blank off the main fuel feed pipe to
the metering distributor.
6.
Disconnect the metering distributor bleed off pipe.
7.
Turn the engine over until numbers one anu six
pistons are at T.D.C. with number one cylinder
firing. Do not turn the engine over again until com-
pletion of the operation.

- Remove and refit
