11.3.2 Configuring sFlow Agent and sFlow Collector Information

This section describes how to configure sFlow agent and sFlow collector information.
Context
An sFlow agent obtains traffic statistics on network devices using a sampling technique,
encapsulates them into sFlow packets, and sends sFlow packets to an sFlow collector for
analysis.
Procedure
Step 1 Run:
system-view
The system view is displayed.
Step 2 Run:
sflow collector collector-id [ ip [ vpn-instance vpn-name ] ip-address | ipv6 [ vpn-
instance vpn-name ] ipv6-address ][ datagram-size datagram-size ][ port port-num ]
[ time-out time ][ description description ]
Parameters are set for an sFlow collector.
When you create an sFlow collector, specify the ID and IP address for the sFlow collector. If
the aging time of the sFlow collector is not set, the sFlow collector is not aged out by default
and the aging time cannot be changed. A maximum of two sFlow collectors can be configured
in the system.
Step 3 (Optional) Run:
sflow agent { ip [ vpn-instance vpn-name ] ip-address | ipv6 [ vpn-instance vpn-
name ] ipv6-address }
An IP address is configured for an sFlow agent.
The specified IP address of an sFlow agent must be a valid unicast address that has been
configured on the device interface. If an IPv6 address is specified, the IPv6 address must be a
global unicast address. The address cannot be a link-local address. By default, an sFlow agent
uses the IP address of the outbound interface in a route to the sFlow collector.

(Optional) Maximum bytes of data that can be copied from a sampled packet is
set (the copied data starts from the original packet header)
