8.5 Maintaining RMON and RMON2

When an RMON operation fault occurs, you can run the debuggingcommand in the user view
to locate the fault and analyze its cause.
Context
Debugging affects the performance of the system. So, after debugging, run the undo debugging
all command to disable it immediately.
When an RMON fault occurs, run the following debugging command in the user view to locate
the fault.
For the description about the debugging commands, refer to the S9300&S9300E Terabit
Routing Switch Debugging Reference.

CAUTION
Run the debugging rmon to enable RMON debugging.
Run the debugging rmon2 to enable RMON2 debugging.
Figure 8-1, the Switch monitors the subnet connected to GE 3/0/0, including:
Collecting real-time statistics and history statistics about traffic and various packets
Monitoring traffic (in bytes) passing through the interface and records logs when the traffic
sent in one minute exceeds the set value
Monitoring the broadcast and multicast packets on the subnet and generates traps for these
packets
The Switch then automatically reports the traps to the NMS when the broadcast and
multicast streams on the subnet exceed the set value.
