9.3.3 (Optional) Configuring Unidirectional Single-fiber
Communication
Context
To ensure the data security of the packet analysis server, ensure the concealment of the traffic
distribution device with regard to a large number of counter monitoring technologies existing
on the network. The unidirectional single-fiber communication technology provides the
concealment for traffic distribution devices. The unidirectional single-fiber communication is
implemented between the traffic distribution device and the packet analysis device so that the
network cannot detect traffic distribution and monitoring devices.
Do as follows on the GE interface of the Switch connected to the packet analysis device.
Procedure
Step 1 Run:
system-view
The system view is displayed.
Step 2 Run:
interface gigabitEthernet interface-number
The GE interface view is displayed.
Step 3 Run:
single-fiber enable
Unidirectional single-fiber communication is enabled.
By default, unidirectional single-fiber communication is disabled.
Before running the single-fiber enable command, you need to run the undo negotiation auto
command to configure the interface to work in non-auto negotiation mode, that is, forcible mode.
Issue 01 (2012-03-15)
NOTE
Currently, only E-series boards and X12SA boards support the load-balance diffluence
command and this function needs to be configured with the license.
Load balancing based on traffic distribution and monitoring on the Eth-Trunk configured by
the load-balance diffluence command cannot be used with the Equal Cost Multi-path (ECMP)
load balancing based on traffic distribution and monitoring configured by the ecmp load-
balance diffluence command. Otherwise, the system displays an error message.
Setting the load balancing mode for an enhanced Eth-Trunk

Create and configure a profile for an enhanced Eth-Trunk. For details, see (Optional)
Configuring a Profile of Enhanced Load Balancing.
2.
Run:
load-balance enhanced profile profile-name
The profile is applied.
