Usage Guidelines
To use this command, you must be in a user group associated with a task group that includes the proper
task IDs.
The modular architecture of the Cisco IOS XR software allows core dumps for individual processes. By
default, processes are configured to dump shared memory, text area, stack, data section, and heap
information.
Specifying an executable name for the executable-name argument changes the core dump option for all
instances of the process. Specifying a job ID for the job-id value changes the core dump option for a
single instance of a running process.

The following example shows how to enable the collection of shared memory of a process:
RP/0/RP0/CPU0:router# process ospf core sharedmem
The following example shows how to turn off core dumping for a process:
RP/0/RP0/CPU0:router# process media_ether_config_di core off
