B.5.1 CE marking
The CE marking on the VFD nameplate indicates that the VFD is CE-compliant, meeting the
regulations of the European low-voltage directive (2014/35/EU) and EMC directive (2014/30/EU).
B.5.2 EMC compliance declaration
European union (EU) stipulates that the electric and electrical devices sold in Europe cannot generate
electromagnetic disturbance that exceeds the limits stipulated in related standards, and can work
properly in environments with certain electromagnetic interference. The EMC product standard (EN
61800-3) describes the EMC standards and specific test methods for adjustable speed electrical
power drive systems. Our products have been compliant with these EMC regulations.
B.6 EMC regulations
The EMC product standard (EN61800-3) describes the EMC requirements on VFDs.
Application environment categories:
First environment: Civilian environment, including application scenarios where VFDs are directly
connected to the civil power supply low-voltage grids without intermediate transformers.
Second environment: All locations outside a residential area.
VFD categories:
Category C1: VFD of rated voltage lower than 1000V, applied to the first environment.
Category C2: VFD of rated voltage lower than 1000V, which is neither a non-plug, socket, nor mobile
devices and must be installed and commissioned by a professional person when used in the first
environment.
Note: The EMC standard IEC/EN 61800-3 no longer restricts the power distribution of VFDs,
but it specifies their use, installation, and commissioning. Specialized personnel or
organizations must have the necessary skills (including the EMC-related knowledge) for
installing and/or performing commissioning on the electrical drive systems.
