SNMP

Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP) is an OSI Layer 7 (Application Layer) designed
specifically for managing and monitoring network devices. SNMP enables network management stations
to read and modify the settings of gateways, routers, switches, and other network devices. Use SNMP to
configure system features for proper operation, monitor performance and detect potential problems in the
Switch, switch group or network.
Managed devices that support SNMP include software (referred to as an agent), which runs locally on the
device. A defined set of variables (managed objects) is maintained by the SNMP agent and used to
manage the device. These objects are defined in a Management Information Base (MIB), which provides

Description
After clicking the Edit button this parameter can be configured. Select
the login method for the specified application here. Options to choose
from are No Login, Login and Login Local. No Login, as the name
implies, requires no login authentication to access the specified
application. Login will require the user to at least enter a password
when trying to access the application specified. Login Local requires
the user to enter a username and a password to access the specified
application.
Description
Select the application that will be configured here. Options to choose
from are Console, Telnet and SSH.
Select the password encryption type that will be used here. Options to
choose from are Plain Text and Encrypted.
Enter the password for the selected application here. This password
will be used when the Login Method for the specified application is set
as Login.
