Feed one end of the w eatherstrip retain er into the
handle o f T o o l J-2189 and out through the end which
spreads the w eath erstrip channel (fig . 56).
7. Starting at the bottom center, in sert the end of the
tool and end of reta in er in channel, tapered part of
the reta in er toward the glass.
8. W hile holding the tool firm ly , with spreading end in
channel, fo llo w around the channel spreading it open
and feed in g reta in er into the opening until the full
length of the reta in er has been fed into the channel.

eventually turns into a hard, g ritty substance which cuts
into the su rface of the upholstery.
V inyl Coated Cloth
T o
clean the seats, use lukewarm , not hot or cold
w ater, and any m ild soap, such as ca stile. W ork up thin
suds on a p iece of cheesecloth and rub upholstery b risk ly.
R em ove suds with a damp cheesecloth, using no soap, and
fin ish by rubbing with a d ry soft cloth. Do not use furni­
ture polish es, oils, varn ish es or ammonia.
W oven N ylon Fabric
Soap and w ater, re g a rd le s s of the basic type of soap,
is not recom m ended fo r cleaning fla t cloths, p a rticu la rly
broadcloths.
1. C arefu lly brush a ll loose p a rtic le s of d irt and soil.
2. Im m erse sm a ll cloth in v o la tile type cleaning solu­
tion, w ring out thoroughly, open cloth and allow med­
ium evaporation.
Do not use too much cleaning fluid; som e in te rio r
trim assem b lies are padded with rubber, and vo la tile
clean ers are g en era lly solvents fo r rubber. The ap­
plication
of too much clean er may d estroy these
