H orizon tal and v e r tic a l aim ing of each sealed beam is
p rovid ed
by two adjusting sc re w s v is ib le through the
b e z e l which m ove the mounting rin g against the tension of
the c o il spring.
SEALED BEAM UNIT REPLACEMENT (Fig. 3 )
1. R em ove b e ze l retaining s c rew s and b ezel.
2. D isengage spring fro m retaining ring.
3. Turn
headlamp
unit
headlamp adjusting screw s.
4. Disconnect w irin g harness connector located at re a r
of unit in engine compartment.
NOTE:
Do not disturb adjusting screw setting.
5. R em ove retaining ring and headlamp fro m mounting
ring.
6. P o sitio n new sealed beam unit in mounting ring and
install retaining ring.
NOTE:
The number m olded into lens face must
be at top.
7. Attach w irin g harness connector to unit.
8. Install headlamp assem bly in panel opening, tw isting
s ligh tly to engage mounting rin g tabs with adjusting
screw s.
9. In stall retaining rin g sprin g then check operation of
unit and in stall b ezel.
PARKING, CLEARANCE A N D IDENTIFICATION
BULB REPLACEMENT
1. R em ove
retaining s c re w (s ) and lens fro m housing.
2. R eplace bulb and check operation of unit.
3. In stall lens and retainin g screw s.
PARKING LAMP H O U SIN G REPLACEMENT (Fig. 3)
1. R em ove headlamp b e z e l on 40-60 and P20-30 s e r ie s
trucks.
2. R em ove lamp housing retaining nuts, and disengage
assem bly fro m g r ille o r panel opening.
3. D isconnect parking lamp w irin g fro m fo rw a rd w irin g
harness.
4. Connect
w irin g

5. P o sitio n lamp housing in g r ille o r panel opening, as
appropriate and in stall retaining nuts.
6. In stall bulb, lens and b e ze l as requ ired.

T h ere is no adjustment fo r focus since the sealed beam
unit
is
set fo r focus during manufacturing assem bly,
lamp lens.
The lamp housings may be replaced by r e ­
m oving the housing attaching nuts or screw s, or by r e ­
m oving the nuts and bolts fro m the bracket.
MARKER LAMPS (Fig. 5)
1. Rem ove screw s retaining m a rk er lamp assem bly to
sheet m etal or housingo
NOTE:
Lam p assem bly lens does not separate
fro m back.
2. Rotate m a rk er lamp assem bly o v e r and turn plug
connector 1/4 turn cou n ter-clockw ise to rem ove and
replace bulb inset in plug connector.
DIRECTIONAL SIGNAL LAMPS
D irection al Signal lights a re eith er an in tegra l part of
the parking and ta illigh t a ssem blies o r a re mounted on
each side of cab (tilt cab only).
NOTE:
On v e h ic les using parking and tailligh t
assem b lies fo r direction a l signals; r e fe r to ap­
p licable light assem b lies fo r bulb replacem ent.
Bulb Replacement (C ab M ounted D irectional Lamps)
1. Rem ove three screw s which retain re a r lens to lamp
assem bly and rem ove lens.
2. Replace bulb and check operation of lamp.
3. Position lens and in sta ll attaching screw s.
WIPER SWITCH REPLACEMENT (Fig. 9)
1. Disconnect battery ground cable.
2. Loosen set sc re w and rem ove w iper knob.
3. R em ove b e z e l and retaining nut.
4. Push sw itch fro m panel opening and rem ove fro m
behind instrum ent cluster.
5. Disconnect w irin g at switch term in als.
6. T o in stall,
re v e r s e
operation of unit.
LIGHT SWITCH REPLACEMENT (Fig. 9)
1. Disconnect battery ground cable.
2. Reaching up behind instrum ent clu ster, depress shaft
retaining button and rem ove switch knob and rod.
3. R em ove b e z e l and retaining nut.
4. Push switch fro m
panel opening and rem ove fro m
behind instrum ent panel.
5. Disconnect

term inals.
6. T o install, r e v e r s e rem ova l procedure.
