diaphragm which in turn acts to close the throttle valves.
The overspeed warning system vacuum switch, being in
the spinner go vern or vacuum line, also senses the v a c ­
uum applied when governed speed is reached and acts to
close the circ u it to the battery thus lighting the am ber
warning lamp.

The function o f the starting system , composed o f the
starting m otor, solenoid and battery, is to crank the
engine.
The battery supplies the e le c tric a l energy, the
solenoid com pletes the circu it to the starting m otor, and
the
m otor
then does the actual work of cranking the
engine.

warning light, ignition switch and the o il p ressu re switch
its e lf, and back to ground. The warning ligh t should light
up when the ignition switch is turned " O N " but the engine
is " O F F " .
When the engine is started the o il pressu re
opens
the switch, breaking the checking circu it.
warning light w ill then go out and rem ain out until such
tim e as the engine reaches its predeterm ined governed
speed. Thus the d riv e r has a quick check o f the condition
o f the warning light bulb.
