ENGINE 6-14
• R em ove le ft and right island supports.
• Disconnect cab safety lock at re a r cab support.
• Rem ove re a r cab support.
4. Disconnect w ire s at:
• S tarter S olenoid.
• D elcotron.
• Tem p eratu re S w itch .
• O il P re s s u re Switch.
• Coil.
5. Disconnect:
• A c c e le r a to r linkage at m anifold bellcrank.
• Choke cable at carburetor.
Fuel line (fro m tank) at fu el pump.
• H eater hoses at engine connection.
• O il pressu re gauge line (if so equipped).
• Vacuum

• P o w e r ste erin g lin es at pump end ( i f so equipped).
• Ground straps at engine.
• Exhaust pipe at m anifold.
NOTE:
Hang exhaust pipe at fra m e with w ire.
6. R em ove fan and pulley as outlined in Section 6K.
7. R em ove clutch c ro s s-sh a ft o r disconnect clutch slave
cylin d er (if so equipped).
8. P e r fo r m the follow in g operations:
Rem ove the ro ck e r arm co v e r as outlined.
• Attach liftin g adapter at p rop er cylin d er head bolt
location.
• Attach liftin g d evice
mounts.
ON A L L SERIES E X C E P T CS 10-20-30:
• Support tran sm ission and disconnect fro m engine.
R e fe r to " Section 7" .
• Rem ove engine mount bolts.
ON CS 10-20-30:
• Rem ove p ro p e lle r shaft as outlined in Section 4.
NOTE:
If plug fo r p ro p e lle r shaft opening in
t r a n s m i s s i o n
i s
transm ission.
• Disconnect
speed om eter
• D isconnect shift linkage at transm ission.
• Disconnect clutch linkage (as requ ired).
• R em ove engine mount bolts.
9. R em ove engine fro m v eh icle as follow s:
CAUTION:
Check often during engine rem o va l
to be sure a ll n ecessa ry disconnects have been
made.
ON CS 10-20-30 SERIES:
• On v eh icles with autom atic or four speed tran s­
m ission, rem ove r e a r mount cro ssm em b er.
• R aise engine and transm ission assem bly and pull
fo rw a rd until rem oved.
ON CS 40-50-60, KS 10-20, MS 50, SS 40-50 SERIES:
R aise engine and pull fo rw a rd until disconnected
fro m transm ission.
• Continue
to
ra ise
veh icle.
ON PS 10-20-30-40 SERIES:
• R aise
engine and push fo rw a rd to c le a r c ro s s ­
m em ber and disconnect fro m transm ission.

ON TS 50 and 60 SERIES:
• R aise engine and pull forw a rd until disconnected
from transm ission.

Continue to ra ise engine until high enough to come
out eith er side.
10. I f engine is to be mounted in an engine stand p erfo rm
the follow ing:
ON CS 10-20-30:
Rem ove synchrom esh tran sm ission and clutch (if
so equipped).
a. R em ove clutch housing re a r co v e r bolts.
b. Rem ove
bolts
attaching
engine
block
then
clutch housing as a unit.
NOTE:
Support
the transm ission as the last
mounting bolt is
rem oved and as it is being
pulled away fro m the engine, to prevent damage
to clutch disc.
c. Rem ove sta rter and clutch housing r e a r cover.
d. Loosen clutch mounting bolts
(to prevent distortion of clutch co v e r) until the
spring p ressu re is released .

a. L ow er engine,
secu red by the hoist, and sup­
port engine on blocks.

Rem ove
sta rter
and
pan.
c. Rem ove
fly w h e e l-to -c o n v e rte r
d. Support transm ission on blocks.
e. Disconnect throttle linkage and vacuum modula­
tor line.
f .
R em ove tran sm ission -to-en gin e mounting bolts.
g. With
the
hoist
attached,
the engine only and slow ly guide the engine from
the transm ission.
ON A L L SERIES E X C E P T CS 10-20-30:
• Rem ove clutch housing.
• Loosen clutch mounting bolts a turn at a tim e (to
prevent distortion of clutch co v e r) until the spring
p ressu re is
released.

11. Mount engine in engine stand and rem ove liftin g de­
v ic e and liftin g adapter.
Installation
1. If engine was mounted in an engine stand, attach
liftin g adapter to engine then using liftin g device,
rem ove engine fro m stand and p e rfo rm the follow ing:
ON CS 10-20-30:
• Install synchrom esh transm ission and clutch (i f
so equipped).
a. In stall the clutch assem bly on flyw h eel as out­
lined in Section 7.
b. Install clutch housing r e a r co ver and s ta rte r
c. Install the transm ission and clutch housing as
outlined in Section 7.
d. In stall
clutch
housing re a r co v e r bolts
torque to specification s.
• Install automatic tran sm ission (if so equipped),
a. P osition engine adjacent to the transm ission
and
