4. Check va lv e to be certain that hex nut at the va lve
base is tight.
Inflate tir e to recom m ended operating
p ressu re.
Check assem bly fo r a ir leaks.
Mounting (7 .7 5 -1 5 and 6 .5 0 -1 6 tires)
1. U se present tir e machines o r standard t ir e iron s f o l ­
low ing the same p rocedu re used in mounting tube
type tir e s , how ever, extrem e ca re must be e x ercised
to prevent injury to the sealing bead when forcin g
tir e o v e r the rim .
A slight application of rubber lu­
bricant on the last 1/2 of each bead c ir c le to be
mounted w ill ease mounting.
2. With tir e beads s till unseated, rotate tir e on wheel
so that balance m ark on t ir e lin es up with the va lve
stem.
3. Start t ir e beads into the rim bead seats as fo llow s:
If a tir e mounting machine is being used, lift the t ir e
high in the rim forcin g the top t ir e bead against the top
rim flange seating the top bead.

When a t ir e mounting machine is not being used, beads
may be seated by holding the t ir e and wheel assem bly in
a v e rtic a l position and bouncing on the flo o r at various
points about the tir e circu m feren ce.
4. Install va lve co re and inflate tir e with quick ' 'shots"
of a ir to fir m ly seat the sealing beads.
5. Check assem bly fo r a ir leaks, then reduce t ir e p r e s ­
sure
to
that recom m ended fo r veh icle operation.
