SHIFT ROD ADJUSTMENT
W ith the shift con trol rods disconnected at the g e a r ­
shift, place the ge a rs h ift le v e r in neutral and place the
two tran sm ission shift rods in the neutral (center detent)
position . Adjust the length o f the shift control rods by
loosen in g the jam nuts, then turning the c le v is e s to
lengthen o r shorten the rods as req u ired so the holes
TRANSM ISSIO N
R em oval
1. Disconnect prop shafts at the input and output ends o f
transm ission.
2. D isconnect gea rsh ift le v e r rods at th eir connection to
the shift rods at the transm ission.
3. Disconnect any connections to the pow er ta k e-offs on
the le ft and right sid es o f the transm ission.
4. Disconnect s p e e d o m e t e r
tran sm ission .
5. Using a suitable jack and som e means to secure the
tran sm ission , rem ove the two nuts and lock w ashers
securin g the " U " bolt at the front to the second
crossm em b er and disconnect the le ft and right bolts,
nuts, and rem o ve spacers fro m
suppport at re a r o f tran sm ission .
6. L o w e r tran sm ission and rem ove fro m veh icle.
Installation (Fig. 1 Id )

LUBRICATION
The a u xiliary tran sm ission should be lu bricated as

ing and secure front o f tran sm ission with two bolts
and lock w ashers to crossm em b er.
3. P la c e a spacer between the r e a r le ft transm ission
mounting flange and crossm em b er support. Secure
tran sm ission to crossm em b er support by installing
bolt, nut, and lock w asher. S im ila rly secure right
side.
4. Connect speedom eter cable to adapter at re a r o f
au x ilia ry transm ission.
5. Install any connections to the le ft o r righ t pow er
ta k e-o ffs.
6. Connect control rods
(r e fe r to Shift Rod Adjustm ent).
7. Connect input and output prop shafts.
