Success of w eath erstrip replacem ent depends en tire ly
upon the quality of the cem ent used and the care with
which it is applied. A ll rust, road d irt and grea se o r o il
must be com p letely rem oved as should a ll old cem ent and

t e r ia l fro m door opening su rface, wipe down with p rep sol
o r its equivalent. U se only a good quality cem ent which
is made s p e cia lly fo r w eath erstrip installation, follow in g
the m anufacturer' s d irection s. P ro ce e d as follow s:
1. Open door and block open.
2. Rem ove s ill plate retaining screw s and rem o ve s ill
plate.
3. R em ove side door inner w eath erstrip seal.
4. R em ove used adhesive fro m cab door opening with
adhesive o r cem ent rem o ver.
5. A pply adhesive to cab opening.
6. Install m olded c o rn er of inner w eatherstrip, startin g
w here windshield post join s the header panel.
7. T r im inner w eath erstrip with a notch as shown in
F igu re 45 and butt ends together.
8. R ein sta ll s ill plate and s i l l plate retain ing screw s.
Door Trim Panel Seal Replacement
1. R em ove window regu la to r and door rem ote con trol
handles. Handles a re retained by clips.
