T ru ck veh icles. In ord er to avoid repetition and to iden­
tify the engines involved in a particu lar procedure, the
307 and 350 cu. in. V8 engines are identified as " Small
V S 's " . The 366, 396 and 427 cu. in. engines are identified
as " M ark IV V 8 's " .

Removal
1. Disconnect battery cables and drain cooling system .
2. Rem ove the a ir clean er.
3. P e r fo r m the follow ing p relim in a ry operations:
ON A L L E X C E P T T E 50 and 60 SERIES:
• Rem ove the hood as outlined in Section 11.
• Rem ove the rad iator and shroud as outlined in
Section 13.

ON T E 50 and 60 SERIES:
• Rem ove the rad iator, radiator support and shroud
as outlined in Section 13.
• Disconnect shaft linkage at control island.
• Disconnect choke cable at carburetor.
• Disconnect em ergency brake cable at em ergency
brake and retaining brackets.
• Rem ove bolts retaining control island to support
and swing control island forw ard.
• Disconnect hoses at radiator surge tank.
