N O TE — Both upper corners
must be installed and square
on the glass before attempting
to install assembly.
SEALER
Apply sealer to the glass groove of the
weatherstrip in a bead 1 / 1 6 diameter
1 / 8 inch from the bottom both sides of
the glass groove and a flat strip all
along the bottom as shown in View A.

6. Check the relationship of gla ss to opening as follow s:
a. Inside edge of g la ss to body flange.
b. Outer edge of gla ss to p a r a lle l body m etal.
7. M ark areas of body m etal or flange to be reform ed ,
rem ove glass and c o r r e c t as necessary.
8. Recheck windshield in its opening and if sa tisfa ctory
p ro ceed as fo llow s.

Installation
CA UTIO N:
A lw ays w ear gloves when handling
glass.
1. Apply s e a le r to areas indicated in F igu re 10 and
in stall on glass. C en tra lize w eath erstrip around edge
of glass to avoid cocking of square co rn ers during
assem bly.
2. In stall
a
cord
around p erip h ery of w eatherstrip,
leavin g a loop at the top and the loose ends at the
bottom as shown in F igu re 12.
3. P la c e p ro te c tiv e c o v e rin g o v e r plenum g r ille , fron t
fen d ers and hood.
Apply s e a le r to w eath erstrip in
areas noted in F igu re 10.
4. P la c e windshield and w eath erstrip assem bly in open­
ing. W ith one technician ligh tly pushing in on wind­
shield, another technician within the cab should pull
on the cord as follow s:
a. P u ll on loose ends (fig . 13) until each is within
2" of its res p e c tiv e upper corn er.
b. P u ll on loop until cord is within 2" of the upper
co rn ers.
After windshield and weather strip have
been installed, apply a 1 / 1 6 " thick by 1 / 8 " wide
strip of sealer for 6 " from the corner across the

c.
Finish seating co rn e rs by sim ultaneously pu ll­
ing
on
both ends of the cord at each co rn er.
This w ill insure p rop er positioning of the c r itic a l
upper corn ers.
OUTSIDE REAR V IEW MIRROR
The standard equipment r e a r view m ir r o r in sta lla ­
tions are shown in F igu res 15 and 16. O ccasional tighten­
ing
of
mounting and assem bly bolts and s crew s w ill
