depress foot pedal to center shoes and again d ecrea se
clearan ce until drag is fe lt on drum.
3. R e lie v e drag by rotating adjusting wheel in opposite
d irection . Back o ff adjustment as follow s:

4. A t other adjusting slot, repeat steps 2 and 3 to adjust
other shoe.
5. Install adjusting hole co v e rs in backing plate.
Bleeding Brakes
The hydraulic brake system must be bled whenever any
line has been disconnected o r a ir has in som e way entered
the system . A "sp o n g y "
applied may indicate presen ce of a ir in the system . The
system
must
be
absolutely

front brakes have two cylin d ers p er
wheel and each has a b leed er va lve. Type " F R - 3 " re a r
brakes have two cylin ders p e r wheel with a b leed er va lve
at the top cylin der only.

NOTE:
If main cylin der or pow er cylin d er is
not equipped with a b leed er valve and bleeding at
the wheels does not produce sa tisfa ctory resu lts,
it w ill be n ecessa ry to disconnect line fro m main
cylin der and b leed it through output port. Then
reconnect
line and disconnect pow er cylin d er
output line and bleed the pow er cylinder.

Brake Fluid
Use D elco H ydraulic Brake Fluid No. 11 o r equivalent
when se rv ic in g brakes.
This brake flu id is sa tisfa cto ry
fo r
any clim ate and has a ll the qu alities n ecessa ry fo r
p ro p er operation,
such as a high boilin g point and the
ability to rem ain flu id at low tem peratures.
In the event that im p rop er fluid has entered the system ,
it w ill be n ecessa ry to s e rv ic e the system as follow s:
1. Drain the en tire system .
2. Thoroughly flush the system with clean alcohol, 188
proof, or a hydraulic system cleaning fluid such as
"D e c le n e " or equivalent.
