s e v e ra l la y e rs may be used, each about 1/2" thick.

Finish the re p a ir by grinding, sanding and painting
in the usual manner, F igu re 66.
REINFORCED PLASTIC REPAIR K IT -E P O X Y TYPE
(Preparation and A pplication)
The follow in g procedu re is basic fo r rep a irin g any
fib e r glass component o r panel.
1. Look fo r hidden dam age. Apply fo rc e by hand around
the damaged area.
2. R em ove finish fro m
area again fo r signs of other damage.
3. Grind o r file the damaged a rea to fo rm a
broken o r cracked portion. Side of
a shallow pitch fo r maximum bonding surface. A belt
sander with a vacuum attachment w ill m in im ize the
dust problem , Figu re 67.
4. If re a r of damage is accessib le clean back of a rea to
p erm it the use of laminate (resin -sa tu ra ted gla ss-
cloth) on both sides of damaged area.
5. Cut fib e r glass cloth to s ize. Make certain a minimum
of fiv e la y e rs is cut fo r the average rep air.
6. M ix resin and hardener p er instruction with re sin and
hardener.
