edge o f the sprocket (with a plastic m allet) should
dislodge the sprocket.
5. If crankshaft sprocket is to be replaced on Sm all V8
engines
rem ove
s p r o c k e t
(fig . 14V). Install new sprocket using a 7/16" -20 x 5"
bolt and nut (fig. 15V). On M ark IV V8 engines r e ­
m ove sprocket using T o o l J-1619 (fig. 16V). Install
new sprocket using T o o l J-21058 (fig . 15V).
6. Install tim ing chain on cam shaft sprocket. Hold the
sprocket v e rtic a l with the chain hanging down and
align m arks on cam shaft and crankshaft sprockets
(fig . 17V).
NOTE:
Do
not attem pt to d riv e
cam shaft as w elsh plug at re a r of engine can
be dislodged.
7. Draw
camshaft sprocket onto cam shaft, using the
three mounting bolts. Torqu e to specification s.

8. Lubricate tim ing chain with engine oil.
9. Install crankcase front c o ver and torsion al damper
