SPECIFIC REPAIRS
Scratched Panels, Spot Refinishing
In many instances, a scratched panel w ill in volve only
a paint refin ish in g job.

1. R em ove a ll paint down to the p lastic fro m the area
surrounding the scratch.

Featheredge the re p a ir a rea with No. 220 wet or
d ry sandpaper and fin ish block sand with No. 320
wet or dry paper, F igu re 71.
CA UTIO N:
Do not sand too deeply into fib e r
glass mat. Should it be n ecessary to cut fa ir ly
deep into the glass mat use the re p a ir p ro ­
cedure suggested fo r
panels.
3. Clean up re p a ir area using P re p -S o l o r equivalent,
then finish the clean-up with a tack rag.
4. P ro te c t surrounding panels by masking b efore p e r ­
form in g paint refinishing operations. U se only non­
staining type masking tapes.
