SEAL REPLACEMENT (Fig. 1 2 8 )
1. Rem ove access panel fro m bottom of door. This w ill
rem o ve window stop attached to access panel and
allow top of window to be low ered to a point below
h orizon tal w eath erstrip s.
2. Using a fla t-b la d e
s c re w d riv e r, p ry w eath erstrips
fro m door.
3. In stall w eath erstrip s to door, making sure retaining
clip s a re fu lly engaged.
4. R aise window, then in sta ll access panel to bottom
of door.
DOOR VENT W IN D O W TENSION ADJUSTMENT
Cab vent windows a re o f the fric tio n type having a
p o sitive th eft-resistan t latch.
consists of a bushing attached at lo w e r end of vent shaft
which rotates in a stationary fric tio n clamp.
If fric tio n m echanism is adjusted too tight, it w ill be
difficu lt to open o r close vent.
w ill result in a flu tterin g vent or one having a tendency
to close with wind p ressu re.
If
n ecessa ry to change vent fric tio n , p e rfo rm p ro ­
cedures as follow s:
1. R em ove
a ccess
trim

shows access opening to fric tio n components.
2. Using s c r e w d riv e r, turn clamp s c re w to obtain two
to
four
pounds torque while m oving vent window
fro m a ten d e g ree open position to a fu ll-op en p o si­
tion. Use eith er a push o r pu ll-type spring scale po­
sitioned at re a r edge of glass.

3. A fte r obtaining p ro p e r tension, in stall access trim
panel.
DOOR VENT GLASS REPLACEMENT
Removal
1. Rem ove sm all access panel fro m inner side of door
below vent window.

2. A t bottom of vent glass (fig . 130), place hand to catch
vent fric tio n
components, then rem ove sc re w fro m
fric tio n clamp.
Slide clamp, fric tio n bushing, and
fla t s te e l w asher fro m vent shaft.
3. A t top of door through sm a ll access opening turn
vent upper pivot s crew fro m vent fra m e.
NOTE:
Screw need not be rem oved com pletely,
just
enough
to becom e disengaged fro m
glass channel.
4. R em ove sc rew s
attaching division channel to vent
channel just below vent latch. Using a s c re w d riv e r,
p ry down on vent channel as shown in fig u re 131,
which w ill cause upper part of channel to becom e
disengaged fro m p ivot screw .
lo w er pivot shaft up out of vent channel.
5. R em ove two screw s which attach glass upper channel
to glass lo w e r channel (fig . 132).
6. Apply P re p -S o l o r equivalent on vent glazin g rubber
to
soften
old
rubber.
