the bead seating p ro c e s s .

M ounting and Demounting
Three Section Rims— D e m o u n t in g Tire
1. C om pletely d eflate t ir e by rem ovin g the v a lv e c o re .
2. U sing a ham m er, tap around the side rin g p r o g r e s ­
s iv e ly to m ove it in tow ard the cen ter o f the rim until
it c le a rs the clam p rin g (fig . 5).
3. Starting at the split in the clam p rin g, ra is e its end
out of the rim gutter using a s c r e w d r iv e r and the t ir e
iro n (fig . 6). Then rem ove the clam p rin g by pryin g
it out o f the gutter with the t ir e iron , m oving p r o ­
g r e s s iv e ly around the rim (fig . 7).
4. D r iv e the cu rved end of the tir e iron in between the
side rin g and the t ir e bead (fig . 8).

away fr o m the side rin g fla n ge (fig . 9).

around the t ir e until the side ring is rem oved .

NOTE: Th e t ir e bead seat on the side rin g is
sligh tly tap ered ; this design m akes rem oval of
ring much e a s ie r .
5. Push the v a lv e stem up inside the t ir e to preven t
dam age w hile rem ovin g the t ir e .
