The cow l ven tila to r intake,
tends a c ro ss the top of the cowl. The opening perm its
outside a ir to en ter into a plenum cham ber which d is­
tributes the a ir to both sides of the cab. A ir en ters into

panels near the flo o r .
A i r flo w is co n trolled by va lv e s in the outlet openings.

Replacement
The
plenum
cham ber,
g r ille ,
can be flushed out without having to rem o ve the
a ir inlet g r ille fro m
the cowl. H ow ever, i f n ecessary
a ir in let g r ille can be re a d ily rem oved fro m cow l open­
ing as follow s:
1. R em ove
windshield w ip er arm s fro m
shafts.
2. R aise hood and rem ove screw s, retaining cow l ven ti­
lato r g r ille and cow l hood ledge seal.
3. R em ove
fou r (4) s crew s fro m
lou vers.
4. Rem ove the six (6) s crew s retaining the fron t of the
g r ille to the cowl.
5. R em ove the two la r g e r s iz e sc rew s fro m each end
of the g r ille at the fo rw a rd corn ers.
6. Rem ove one (1) s c re w each side which is exposed
when the door is opened.
