1. Drain radiator and rem ove radiator hoses. D iscon­
nect o il c o o le r lines if so equipped.
2. D isconnect w ire connectors at the dash and toe panel
and w ir e
connector to horn and voltage regu lator.
3. D isconnect battery and gen erator w ire s .
4. Rem ove rein forcem en t on le ft fen der sk irt at s te e r ­
ing column.
5. R em ove
fron t
bumper bolts and rem ove bumper.
6. R em ove w ip er arm assem b lies and cow l g r ille .
7. R em ove bolts attaching fender upper edge to plenum
and hinge p illa r.
8. R em ove fan shroud.
9. W orking fro m underneath re a r of fender, rem ove at­
tachment fro m each fen der at the hinge p illa r.
10. R em ove bolt fro m each rad iator support mounting.

11. R em ove bolts at each fen d er sk irt to cab s ill exten­
sion mounting.
12. W ith a helper, rem ove fron t sheet m etal assem bly,
with radiator, battery, horn and voltage regu lator
attached.
Installation
1. W ith a helper place sheet m etal assem bly in position.
NOTE:
In stall
a ll
bolts
aligning a fte r com plete installation.
2. Install fender bolts at cowl.
3. In stall combination bolt and fla t washer assem bly
into each fen d er rein forcem en t w hile inserting shim s
requ ired
between
fen d er rein forcem en t and body.
(See Figu re 11.)
4. In stall two bolts and shims requ ired at each fen der
re a r lo w e r edge to hinge p illa r.
5. In stall bolt in each fen d er sk irt to s ill extension.
6. Install bolts at s teerin g column sk irt rein forcem en t,
fin a l torque 25 ft. lbs.

7. a. Tighten each ra d ia tor support mounting bolt 33
ft. lbs.
b. Torque bolts at fender to cowl 25 ft. lbs.
8. Install fron t bumper.
9. Connect w ire connectors at dash and toe panel. A t­
tach gen erator and regu lator w ires.
10. Connect upper and lo w er radiator hoses. Connect o il
co o le r lines to the rad ia tor on m odels so equipped.
11. Install cow l g r ille and w ip er arm s.
12. Connect battery and f i l l radiator. Start engine and
check fo r leaks.
