13. R em ove the inner plate with core attached from the
co re
case

14. R em ove the co re tube bracket and core retaining
screw s.
15. Separate the co re and plate.
16. R em ove th erm ostatic va lve c ap illary tube fro m the
co re by withdrawing the p lastic retaining pin.
17. R em ove screw s attaching therm ostatic valve to core
and rem o ve va lve assem bly.
Installation
1. A ssem b le th erm ostatic va lve assem bly to core.
2. Attach the th erm ostatic valve c a p illa ry tube to the
co re
with
the
p la stic pin.
inches away fro m the edge of the core (valve sid e),
and 2-1/2 inches back fro m the front edge of the core
(fig .
9).
B e fo re pinning the co il, bend the straight
section of tube in a gentle a rc which w ill hold the
coiled end away fro m the core while unpinned.
w ill preven t the tube from rattling against the core.

Mount the core to its retaining plate and mount the
co re tube bracket.
4.

"Shoehorn" the plate under the lip of
the housing i f n ecessary.
5. Attach the top co ver of the core case.
6. Connect the tem perature door cable and check its
adjustment.
Secure
plate.
7.
L ift the heater assem bly to the cowl panel and push
the mounting stud and core tubes into place.
8. In stall the screw s retaining the core case to cowl at
the a ir inlet.

9. Connect the blow er m otor w ire at the m otor flange
term in al.
10. Replace d e fro s te r hoses.
11. Attach the a ir and d e fro s te r door cables and check
adjustment.

A t the fron t of the cab, tighten the sheet m etal nut
to the core case stud.
13. Connect the rubber elbows to the core tubes and
clamp secu rely.
14. Replace a ir intake g r ille .
15. R e fill cooling system .
16. Connect battery ground cable.
