Section 01 MAINTENANCE

1. Drain plug
NOTE: Allow oil to drain completely from the
crankcase.
8. Clean the magnetic drain plug from metal shav-
ings and residue. Presence of debris gives an
indication of internal engine damage.
9. Install a NEW gasket ring on the drain plug.
NOTICE
Never use the gasket ring a second
time. Always replace by a new one.
10. Install and tighten drain plug to the recom-
mended torque.

11. Replace oil filter. Refer to
REPLACEMENT
in this subsection.
12. Refill engine with recommended engine oil.
ENGINE OIL CAPACITY
2 L (2.1 qt (U.S. liq.))
13. After filling, check the oil level, refer to
GINE OIL LEVEL VERIFICATION
section.
14. Start engine and let it idle for a few minutes.
15. Ensure oil filter and drain plug areas are not
leaking.
16. Stop engine.
17. Wait a while to allow oil to flow down to
crankcase, then check oil level again.
18. Dispose oil and filter as per your local environ-
mental regulations.

To reach oil filter, refer to
remove the following parts:
– Seat
– Console
– RH side panel
– RH footrest panel.

1. Clean oil filter area.
2. Remove oil filter cover screws.
3. Remove oil filter cover.
4. Remove oil filter.

1. Check and clean the oil filter inlet and outlet
area of dirt and other contaminations.
