TUBE AIR
Tube air is used primarily when packaging snack foods, and it does
several things: it adds air to the bag which acts as a cushion to protect
the product, it gently pushes the product down into the bag, and it pre-
vents wrinkles in the seals.

Figure 37: Tube Air Assembly
Tube air consists of an air blast tube located inside the forming tube
assembly. The tube is held in place by a clamp that is tightened by a
thumbscrew.
The amount of air is controlled by a flow control and is adjusted based
on the product and the film.

:
MPORTANT
Too much air pressure may cause product turbulence and keep
the product from settling properly into the bag.
For best performance, position the tube into the forming shoulder
assembly with the open end down. Verify the tube is flat against the
funnel of the forming tube. If the tube is not flat, product can be
trapped in the forming tube.
