Stager Plate Gap
Adjustment

Adjust the flow control fittings by
turning the adjustment screws all
the way in (clockwise) and then
back out four (4) turns.
Fine adjust screws in or out until
the pivot arms open and close
smoothly.

MPORTANT
Adjusting flow control and
the cushion at the rod end
affects the stager closing.
Adjusting flow control and
the cushion at the cap end
affects the stager opening.

AUTION
Before operating the
machine, the cushions and
flow controls must be set the
same on both cylinders to
avoid damage to the pivot
arms and cross plates.
5. Restore power.
6. Reset the machine and check operation.
7. Repeat as needed to achieve efficient operation.
A 0.125" gap between the closed stager plates is factory set and does
not normally require adjustment. Thicker films and some product types
may require this gap to be slightly modified.

MPORTANT
The center line of the closed stager plates must match the center
line of the closed end seal jaws. Use the end seal jaws as the refer-
ence center line.
To adjust the gap:
1. Loosen the adjustment screws on the stager plates
2. Slide the plates on the slotted holes.
3. Tighten the screws.

Open the flow controls completely
and then close 1 turn
If fine adjustment is required, turn
the controls in or out until the
stager plates open and close
smoothly.
