RESISTANCE END SEAL ADJUSTMENTS AND
PROCEDURES

EMOVAL
1.
Remove all power from the machine.
2.
Remove the knife.
3.
Remove the nuts and slide the jaw faces out of their hous-
ings.

NSTALLATION
1.
Remove all power from the machine.
2.
Slide the jaw face into its housing and tighten the nuts.
3.
Restore machine power.
4.
Turn each jaw temperature controller On.
5.
Set jaw temperature to 300° F.
Jaw faces must be at this temperature or normal operating tempera-
ture before the alignment procedure can be completed.
6.
Loosen the nuts (2).
7.
Manually close the jaw carriers until the jaw faces start to
mesh.
8.
Close and lock the jaw carriers.
9.
Tighten the nuts (2) with the jaw faces meshed.

MPORTANT
Check the jaw pressure before adjusting the jaw alignment.
Incorrect pressure causes sealing problems.
Make the primary adjustment on the front (knife side) of the jaw
face.
If sealing problems still exist after the jaw alignment is tested
and the imprint is inadequate, there may be a problem with the
film.
The jaws must be in alignment to produce even seals. Incorrect align-
ment results in uneven contact between the front and rear jaws across
the entire width of the jaws and may cause some areas of the seal to
leak or open easily.
