CHAPTER 7: REGISTRATION ROLLERS

The registration roller assembly is responsible for measuring the fin-
ished bag length and providing the appropriate amount of film to the
forming tube assembly. It is also responsible for maintaining film
tracking throughout the machine.

• Motor (servo or stepper, depending on machine model)
• Upper Feed Roller Assembly
• Registration Backup Plate
• Photo-Sensor
• Accu-Track Film Sensors (optional)

The film is situated between the registration rollers and pressure roller
assembly. A motor moves the film to make the proper bag length and
meet jaw seal time requirements. On intermittent machines, the film
starts and stops every cycle. The film speed automatically changes to
meet the bag making requirements.
If Accu-Track is installed, during the film pulling cycle, Accu-Track
sensors located adjacent to the photosensor continuously monitor the
position of the film edge. If the edge begins to drift, the Accu-Track is
activated to correct any movement by shifting the unwind left or right.
