EPLACING AND
ETTING
Hydraulic shock absorbers are used to control the jaw cushion while
operating. The shock absorber fits into the end of the jaw actuator. To
install a hydraulic shock absorber:

MPORTANT
There must be a 3" clearance from the cylinder plate to
•
the end of the shock absorber.
The shock absorber is factory set to zero (0). Internal
•
damage can occur if the shock absorber is not adjusted
in gradual increments.
1.
Mount and align the shock absorber into the end of the jaw
actuator.
2.
Securely lock the shock absorber in place.
3.
Set the adjustment knob to zero (0).
4.
Cycle the machine and observe the jaw cushion.
a. if there is too much bounce when the jaws open, turn
the adjustment knob to the next highest setting
b. if there is too much dampening when the jaws open,
turn the adjustment knob back to the previous setting
5.
Lock the adjustment knob by tightening the setscrew with
a hex key wrench.
