Bag Deflator
BAG DEFLATOR
Bag deflation removes air from the package just before the end seal
jaws close and form the seal. This produces a more attractive bag with-
out wrinkles and allows smaller cases to be used. Bag deflation is
available in several configurations, depending upon product and film.

Figure 3: Bag Deflation (mounted on end seal jaws)
Bag deflators are mounted to the end seal jaws and close just as the
jaws are closing. Linear stager mounted deflators close with the stager,
prior to the jaws, allowing additional time for deflation.

Excess air is squeezed out of the bag by a heat-resistant foam pad. The
height of the deflator pads may be adjusted along with the
front-to-back position. These adjustments control the amount of defla-
tion. Install new deflator pads when they begin to wear. Use an adhe-
sive to glue them in place.
