SELF-CENTERING PULL BELTS
Self-centering pull belts automatically align both pull belts at the
same time with the forming tube. The air cylinders compensate

for varying sizes of forming tubes and pull belt wear without the
need for a manual or mechanical adjustment.
Vacuum self-centering pull belt assemblies assist in advancing
thicker packaging material from the registration rollers, over the
former and into the jaw area. These types of pull belts are espe-
cially helpful with zipper applications.
The vacuum pull belt assembly is controlled by an air system
located next to each pull belt. The red air hoses on the air sys-
tem feeds the vacuum system on the pull belts. Each control
box also has an air filter to purify the air running to the pull belts.
Air is pulled through vacuum holes on the pull belts from the air
system. This creates a vacuum effect between the packaging
material and the pull belts, causing the material to pull down-
ward easier.
Self-centering pull belts use either a
directional valve or the reset button to
move the pull belts away from the
forming tube or into the run position.
The directional valve is located on the
inside of the machine frame. Opening
the door or pressing E-stop will retract
the pull belts on machines without a
directional valve.

AUTION
An Emergency Stop or opening a door does not remove the air
supply to the self-centering pull belts. The air supply to the
machine must be shut off before performing maintenance to the
pull belts.
