The standard flat bottom bag machine has fixed tuckers that actuate
with the jaw close. To prevent bags from hanging on the bottom tuck-
ers, they need to be out of the way before the jaw opens. To do this, an
optional air cylinder on the bottom tuckers allows the tucker blades to
extend before the jaw closes and to retract before the jaw opens.
The bag support and eject assembly supports the filled bag and ejects it
horizontally onto a takeaway conveyor. By removing product weight
from the end seals, it allows stronger seals to be formed.
This option seals the bottom tucked film against the top jaw by actuat-
ing the top tucker blades downward, pinching the film between the
blades and the top of the jaw. The tucker blades are also heated for a
better seal.
HOLE PUNCH ASSEMBLIES
ProPunch uses a heated punch to make a hole in a polypropylene pack-
age. The system maintains a steady temperature even when the speed
changes. This eliminates the possibility of burnout due to overheating.

The punch assembly consists of a heater and cutting tip with a built-in
sensor in the heater. The heater is mounted in a retainer attached to a
holding plate. The entire assembly is clamped to the guide shafts.
The punch is mounted to the jaw face mounting plate. A spring in the
unit is used to align and adjust the punch. The temperature control and
On/Off switch are located inside the electrical enclosure.
