A signal from the machine controller causes the air cylinder to retract
and close the stripper arms. The stripper bars are 0.035" (0.9 mm) apart
with film between them. As the jaws close to make the end seal, the
cam followers allow the vertical motion cam and the entire assembly to
move down on the shafts. The stripper bars remove product from the
end seal area and force it down into the bag.
After the jaws close, the knife cuts the film between the top seal of the
filled bag and the bottom seal of the next bag.
After the bag is cut, the jaws open. As the jaws open, the cam moves
the assembly up to its top position and the air cylinders open the strip-
per arms.
Set the stripper arms for maximum speed with smooth and quiet opera-
tion. To adjust:
1. Bring machine to a controlled stop.
2. Turn the electrical power Off and lockout the machine.
3. Retract the air cylinders until the clevis stops perpendicu-
lar with the adjusting screws.
4. Loosen the jam nuts and turn adjusting screws on both
sides of the machine until a gap of 0.062" - 0.093" is
obtained across the entire length of the stripper bars.
